Gimme Shelter

The most absurd things crack me up. This little anecdote is sad, humorous and disturbing all at once. On my way home from work I was stopped on Placer waiting to turn onto my street when I saw two little old white-haired women in motorized chairs. The women were stopped on a corner wrapping plastic over themselves (and what also appeared to be all of their belongings). Wind made the plastic coverings whip around them as one women tried to secure the plastic barrier for the other - both women remained in their motorized chairs as they did this. Were these women homeless, handicapped, or just out about town on a windy and rainy afternoon?
